WETT is a transmission service provider (TSP), rate-regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). Our transmission rate is one of many components comprising retail electric service charges.

All of WETT’s transmission facilities are located within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region, and therefore, follow the ERCOT Protocols and Operating Guidelines. We coordinate all transmission operations with ERCOT.

WETT also operates its transmission system in compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability standards as enforced by the Texas Reliability Entity (Texas RE). WETT submits regular informational filings to the Texas RE and is subject to audit by the regulatory authority.
